Welcome to my NEW Outlander Kitchen! After an intense weekend of changes and redesign, I’m happy to say that it’s 98% done, and I’m very, very happy with the new look. recipe indexWe’ll start the tour with the Recipe Index, which, other than a couple of new pictures and recipes, hasn’t changed a bit! Here you’ll find all of OK’s recipes, organized by recipe type, book, main ingredient and special category.

The recipe index is the best place to start when you’re looking for a new recipe, or planning an Outlander-themed gathering or dinner party!

about page

The About page has changed pretty dramatically. It now lists articles, features, and videos about myself and Outlander Kitchen, as well as links to online retailers from whom you can PRE-ORDER Outlander Kitchen: The Official Outlander Companion Cookbook.

My Outlander Kitchen now tells the history of OK, and along with some other pages is now found in the “More” drop-down menu at the top of the page.

I’ve also simplified the right-hand sidebars on all of the pages to give the who blog a cleaner, less cluttered look. The one addition to the sidebars is my subscription box. Click on the top link to subscribe to the Outlander Kitchen blog feed to receive new blog posts on your browser timeline or in your email inbox — never miss another recipe or post!

Enter your email address and click SUBSCRIBE to sign up for my seasonal newsletter. I send it out 4 times per year, and in it, you’ll find extra recipes, handy kitchen tips, a video demo, and much more!

I would like to thank the team behind my new WordPress theme, Avocet. It’s a stunningly beautiful, clean and simple theme that was a breeze to customize. And the couple of times I did run into trouble, the support provided by SuperAvis was immediate and complete. In fact, I love it so much, I’ve also used it to give a new look to my other blog, Island Vittles too!

And now it’s on to Season 2, Outlanders – time is slipping away faster than Claire through the stones, and I have a French-themed Premiere menu to prepare! Watch for it in the next couple of weeks. April 9 will be here before we know it…

    The more OK in your inbox box isn’t working on the home page. Nothing happens when I click or try to input my email address.

      P.S. I also tried using the Explorer browser and it still wouldn’t work. You might want to try looking at it from a different computer. Maybe it is working on your computer because it is in your cache? I’m afraid I am not very savvy with IT issues.

      Thanks, Adina. I’ve tried it across platforms and had other people use it with no problems. I’m thinking its a chrome issue. I’ll keep digging!

      Hi, Theresa — I also couldn’t get the signup link to work on the home page (I use internet explorer) but it worked just fine on the “About” page. Love the new website design!

    The new look is good except the text is hard to read due to the darkness/type of background. If you’re going to keep this background, it would be nice to either make the text another font size larger, or bolder. It would be so much easier to read. Thanks for listening.

    LOVE the color combination, kind of a medium blue and deep mustard, would either love a dress or paint a room with these. Gorgeous site! Congratulations! SQUEEE! Still pinch myself, that is happening. 🙂

      Laura, hmmm. May I ask what device and operating system you’re using? And is here just no box to enter your email, or is something else the problem?

    I LOVE THE NEW LOOK. NO CLUTTER MAKES IT EASIER TO LOOK AROUND. CAN’T WAIT FOR THE COOK BOOK. I PRE-ORDERED WHEN IT FIRST WAS PUT OUT. CONGRATS ON THE NEW LOOK.

    love the new look — the parchment paper look is wonderful — it almost feels “touchable”! Made Mrs Bug’s Buttermil Drop Biscuits the other night — still my favorite recipe besides Brianna’sBridies!

    I can’t sign up either. I’m using Mozilla Firefox. Everything except the sign up seems to be working. The printing inside the boxes for name, email and website (below this comment box) is so light I almost missed it. Perhaps it could be made a little more noticeable?

    Can’t wait to try some of these recipes! I have dietary restrictions for salt, fat and sugar, but will find a way ;^)
